"These girls are in trouble." God's voice was big and booming as worry etched its way across his face. Lines had begun to appear on his forehead and cheeks and next to his eyes out of worry fear. "These girls have been watched by Lucifer's Fallen Angels for some time now and they've decided to make their move on them in a few weeks."
"And what are we supposed to do about it?" Michael spoke boldly across the room, without making a move to warn of his outburst.
God's timeless, caramel colored eyes flickered to Michael's face before he replied, "You're going to protect them."
"Protect them from what?" Tagas asked, curiously, raising his hand unlike Michael had.
"You're going to protect them from the influence of the Fallen Angels. Their destinies were not meant to intertwine with Darkness. Lucifer is toying with fate and that's not allowed. You, my Angels, you have to protect the girls from Lucifer's evil influence."
Worry crossed over God's Angels' faces as they looked around at each other, whispering nervously. It was then that Michael spoke again, a hush falling over the room when his deep voice echoed in the room, "We'll do our best to protect the girls," he vowed, closing a fist across his heart. With that, Michael stood up and moved out of the room, the other Angels falling in behind their lieutenant.
God watched his Angels as they all filed out of the room. He let out a soft, weary sigh and turned to the big window to watch the other members of his kingdom all flit around. A smile tugged at the corner of his lips, but a heaviness pulled at his heart.
----
It's been two months since God's Angels have been on the Earth and now they've settled into the city where all the girls are. They've infiltrated the girls' schools and they've become friends with them and worked their way into the girls' circle of friends. Some of them have become close; others haven't. Regardless of the girls' social standings with the Angels, the girls are protected.
Each of the Angels have taken on fake names and fake backstories to appear to the other kids with. Little do each of the girls know that their new friends are actually divine beings protecting them. In the past month, the threat of Lucifer has increased heavily with demon attacks becoming more and more frequent in the news.
So with that information, the Angels and God worked out a deal. The girls would be taken to a safe house away from Chicago and they'd be better cared for. The only problem with the safe house is that Lucifer is bound to find it soon.
In the meantime, however, the girls and the Angels have been making do with what they've got in the house.
Recently--about two weeks ago--the Angels told the girls who they really were. Aside from the minor freak-outs that pursued, the girls were alright with everything.
Is one girl going to slip, though, will she be tempted by Lucifer or the Devil's minions to tell what the Angels really are? Or... who they really are?
